This site will be live from noon EST on June 7th until midnight EST on July 5th. Please keep in mind that you can only read the book here – you won’t be able to download it to your e-reader or phone. And you can’t print it out.

Dej takes in the Italian sights

“I got to Montepulciano before shooting began.  The town is so pretty!  The square was outfitted with red banners, and extras in red cloaks.  I saw the procession of extras get all together and organized.

“I think I ‘saw’ the Twilight crew.  I was taking pics, and fans were behind a barricade.  I squeezed into a doorway.  Police and crew joined arms and ferreted the crowds away from the center of the narrow street in front of the tower.

“Then this dark windowed van crept through the crowds.  They were yelling ‘Robert’.  The van came within a foot of me.  I could only make out profiles.  I did not see RPattz’s crazy do. He must have already had hair and makeup.

“I am very sure I saw KStew and Dakota Fanning’s profiles.  DK was the tiny one.  KStew was the bored thin chick with stringy hair.  The security held up a blanket and let the passengers into a building.

“I also visited Volterra.  Montepulciano is prettier.”

The sneak peak features costume designs and story boards from the movie production weaved with the director’s thoughts. It promises to have more behinds-the-scenes goodness, but with less polish and more heart than the Twilight Illustrated Movie Companion, and demonstrates, yet again, how connected Hardwicke is to the fans.

We tried about 10 times to get the apple shot— the clock was ticking—I started thinking this was a really dumb idea. I almost gave up – but we got it on take 13…my lucky number.

Some other tidbits from EW that are irresistible:

• A water-colored sketch of Edward/Robert with long “timeless” long hair reminiscent of 1986.
• A “trivia note” on the woman behind the voice that rises when Edward arrives on the screen for the first time: Lizzie Pattinson, Robert’s sister.
• The meadow scene was shot in LA at a golf course and was “carpeted” with ferns, flowers and other foliage to achieve that Pacific Northwest look.
