it’s certainly no surprise that others are beginning to talk about The Twilight Saga: Eclipse movie. Adam Lambert from American Idol fame seems to think that one of his songs might belong on that album.

Hi Kimberley–I know it’s in the US iTunes Store as part of the Deluxe Version of the soundtrack. I’m not sure if its available on the other countries’ iTunes Store.

Number 8, Wandrers Nachitlied II, Op. 96, No. 3, D. 768 – Ulf Bastlein (iTunes bonus) where Carlisle is stitching up Bella and talking about vampire souls is supposed to be a bonus track from iTunes. Is it only on the UK version? I can’t seem to find it.

Personally I would have to disagree with some of you about the music not being right for the movie. I thought the music on this soundtrack was better fitted for atmosphere of the movie. Although I, too, was dissapointed there were no Rob Pattinson songs. ^_^ My favorite song was Rosyln by Bon Iver & St. Vincent.

Hey Lilyan–”New Moon (The Meadow),” that appears in the soundtrack disc, was a piano version of the score that doesn’t appear in the film. Here is what the composer, Alexandre Desplat, said about this version to the Examiner:

Now, on the New Moon soundtrack, you submitted a song called “The Meadow.” Was that actually a demo track for what would become the New Moon score?
No, not at all. It’s actually the original version of the love theme that I wrote for the film. It’s the love theme in its most basic, simplified state. The score was actually recorded about a month later. And I just thought the solo piano would be the best option to match with the other songs that were on the soundtrack. I think an orchestral piece at the end would have been a bit strange or inappropriate. I wanted the music to have a real sense of movement and emotion.

Thanks for this ladies! I was wondering where the Killers song was, guess I didn’t stay in the theater long enough to hear it. That was AMAZING how they used the Thom Yorke song. Not what I expected AT ALL. I thought for sure it would be in a Bella and Edward scene since the lyrics are “You can do no wrong in my eyes.” But it was pretty cewl…

Thanks I liked Monsters by Hurricane Bells and The Violet Hour by Sea Wolfe. But I agree with LS I was disappointed with the music on the soundtrack. I haven’t really given the score a good listen yet though, and I wasn’t really paying it that much attention when I saw New Moon either to be honest haha
I got the soundtrack from iTunes the day they released it though, and I’m still not into the songs too much, some of them I love but lots just didn’t do it for me. I thought the Twilight soundtrack was better to be honest. On this soundtrack I preferred the songs that had beats that fit the songs, some I felt like they added certain rhythms to the music that didn’t really fit, like in Shooting the Moon by Ok Go. I love Ok Go, but that song, I really didn’t like it. :S Maybe it’s just because there isn’t a Robert Pattinson song on this one lol

Thanks for that. Have to say, as much as I wanted to like it, I was a bit disappointed with the music, both score and soundtrack. Hearing Damage worked great for the awesome Victoria sequence, and Desplat’s theme for Bella & Edward was beautiful. Other than that, I thought the music was somehow off for the film. Too fantastical…too Harry Potter-like.

katy–i really love both those songs too. “Possibility” works really well. Kristen made me cry when i first watched that scene. Satellite Heart is the perfect breakup song.

I loved the song Possibility – Lykke Li and Satellite Heart – Anya Marina. They were amazing, and really fit with their scenes especially the october, november, december scene *tear*
