PR School for Rob Pattinson: Now Enrolling!
Posted on | March 9, 2010 | No Comments
Hey Rob, we understand your climb to fame was meteoric. One day, you’re chillaxin’ with your guitar in coffeebars and, then the next day, the gates of hell are threatening to open up to suck you in.
But never fear, my brother, the Twilight Newborns have launched their own PR bootcamps for “Men Would Have Been Cast as Edwards in Twilight Movie Adaptations.”
Our sessions include:
- “How to Diplomatically handle pushy reporters”
- “The Art of the Snarky Comeback”
- “Pretending to sleep to avoid annoying questions”
- “The ‘What Game” (“What? What did you say? I can’t hear you, what!?!’)”
- “Dressing for Success: Choosing a Slimming Beanie”
- “Using your British accent to lull reporters into a false sense of security”
- “It’s Ok to say you aren’t dating your co-worker”
- and finally “So Your Fans Sound like the Gates of Hell”
Hot Pocket buffet lunch and continental breakfast are included in the cost.
Also, invite a friend and save! Only good for male British actor friends you know who might have put their foots in their mouths during Sundance Film Festival <cough, Orlando>.
OUR 100% GUARANTEE: After this boot camp, quotes like “I’m allergic to vagina,” no matter how true, will magically never be uttered again.

Movie Reviews: Little Ashes and Robsessed
Posted on | February 10, 2010 | 9 Comments
I (finally) got to watch two Rob focused films today (thanks, blizzard!), Little Ashes and Robsessed, so I thought I’d give a quick review.
Little Ashes (See official movie website)
Probably one of Rob’s least relate-able roles for Twilight fans, Little Ashes is a love story spanning two decades between real-life poet Federico García Lorc (Javier Beltrán) and painter Salvador Dalí (Robert Pattinson) that starts during their college days in post WWI Spain.
Truthfully, I was expecting to like Little Ashes more than I did. It isn’t a good film. It starts slow and doesn’t provide enough explanation of what is happening. Kudos to Rob for throwing himself into the part, but Dali is very tough character to play. And here is why (as explained by Wikipedia): “Dalí was highly imaginative, and also had an affinity for partaking in unusual and grandiose behavior, in order to draw attention to himself.” Translation: Dali was weird genius and always caused a scene. Not someone who is easy to relate to. Also the craft of painting never translates well in film (exception given to Stephen Dorff and painting with his woman in Backbeat, FTW!).
Robsessed (See movie website on myspace)
With Robsessed, a Robert Pattinson documentary, the opposite is true: I liked this movie more than I expected, though I had low expectations. All the reviews had said it was a rehash of many interviews and photos of him, which is true. But I liked most of the experts (Rob isn’t interviewed at all for this documentary). It is a bit icky that they were mostly British taloid press (not the most credible journalists). But they were interesting and well-informed. The film uses some paparazzi photos and even interviewed a Vancouver-based one. The other people who appear include a Renasty Award Winner and “superfans” of Twilight/Rob, and of course, they came off nutty (can’t we Twilight fans ever catch a break in the media?). There was even an interview with the girl who was in the infamous boy-ploit photos of Rob from his teen modeling days:
But overall, i thought it was a decent summary of his career so far. I totally agree that no matter how many pairs of bottle glasses and Cosby sweaters you put on a Rob (as in the Bad Mother’s Handbook), you just can’t hide the pretty girl within:

Website of the Week: Heidi Sierra
Posted on | January 10, 2010 | 1 Comment
Our website of the week from Episode 35 is Heidi Sierra. Heidi has an album of Twilight-inspired music titled, Twilight Obsession.. We can relate! About Heidi, from her website:
At a time where she felt to write music only for herself, she came across a little book called Twilight. Fascinated by the story and supernatural love she read more into the saga. No sooner a song was born called “Never Existed”, a song about one of the characters in the story. This new obsession led into writing more Twilight inspired songs. The excitement of the songs prompted Heidi to share her songs with as many Twilight fans as she could.
Sample her sound and check out her websites at heidisierra.net or at myspace.com/heidisierramusic.
